About Us

The American Legion Auxiliary is the largest women's patriotic service organization in the world. We were established in 1919 and our mission is to serve veterans, their families, and their communities. More information about the national organization can be found on the American Legion Auxiliary web site. For information on the state organization, click here: http://www.azlegion.org/majorp~2.htm

Our local unit here in Camp Verde was chartered on May 3, 1977. We are a nonprofit organization that does several charity events for the community every year. We send money to Bob Stump V. A. Medical Center in Prescott for the veterans, do benefit dinners to help members pay their bills when necessary, give scholarships for college to several high school seniors every year, send junior girls to Girls State to learn about government. We donate to the State Child Welfare Foundation and to Camp Verde Head Start Program every year.

We give apples to all the school staff in our town in November for National Education Week. Every February we hold a Four Chaplains Ceremony to honor the chaplains who gave their lives to save others during WWII. We donated $690.00 to Children's Miracle Network this year. Last Christmas, $6000 was raised and spent on needy families in our town and surrounding community to see that they had a Merry Christmas. We donate to the Verde Valley Senior Center in Cottonwood for Meals on Wheels for the Verde Valley shut-ins.

We hold dinners, bake sales, car washes and auctions to raise the money for all of our charity programs.

The post is located at 286 S. Third Street, Camp Verde. For further information, contact us at info@MorganEmbly.com.
